Song of the Gypsies for violin, cello, and piano [11:00]

The work draws the spirit of playing in the "Gypsy style" which refers to a typical way East European music is played in an entertaining setting. It consists of various characteristics similar to gypsy music such as rhythmic shifts in the melodies, producing a bouncing effect, glissandi in the strings, creating a dramatic moment, and quarter tones, generating a pitch bend effect typical in the fiddle playing fashion. The melody is based on major and minor mode, the harmony is not too complicated and ususally has a classic sound. Both violin and cello take turns as a soloist while the piano supports and embellishes the melodic and harmonic structures.
