The work begins inaudibly with a single A sustained by the timpani, and like the recalling of a distant memory, the sound quickly grows as more instruments join the sonority. The work continues to build and becomes more diverse, as I employ the instruments of the full orchestra, with extensive use of large percussion section to produce myriad sounds. The final A sounded by bowed vibraphone echoes in the imagination of the audience, perhaps continuing its manifestation beyond the performance.
